About
The Sault Area Art Center is owned and operated by SAAC, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. It is under the direction of, and staffed by, volunteer board members. Located in the Alberta house, it contains the Sault Area Arts Council office, the Olive M. Craig Gallery, and a juried shop which displays and sells one-of-a-kind paintings and crafts by local artists.
Gallery
The Sault Area Art Center, located in the Alberta House, has larger and smaller gallery spaces which comprise the Olive M. Craig Gallery. We have monthly shows, including annual exhibits, an annual Student Art Show, a Featured Artist show among other exhibits in which artists from our local area and the surrounding Upper Peninsula show their work. Shop
The Gift Shop located in the Alberta House is staffed by our amazing Volunteers. The Shop offers for sale a large selection of original fine art: paintings, drawings, pottery, glass works, wood carvings, metal work, jewelry, fabric arts, greeting cards and other handcrafted items made by local artists.
The works of artists who sell in our gift shop are juried and these artists must be SAAC members. Artists bring samples of their work(s) for board approval.
