Our March 2025 show features artwork from local students

Exhibit runs from March 4-March 28

Opening Reception: Sunday, March 9 from 1:00-3:00 pm

Sponsored by Sault Ste. Marie Lions Club

Celebrate student artists in grades 7 – 12 from across the Eastern Upper Peninsula at the Sault Area Art Center’s annual Student Art Show.  Art – no matter what medium - provides an outlet for students to express themselves, explore their identities, and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Often, SAAC’s student art show is the first time local students see people interacting with their art. The experience is powerful, and helps young artists feel valued and inspired to continue their artistic pursuits.

Certificates will be awarded to 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and honorable mentions. Winners will be announced at the opening reception on March 9th. Artists' names will be removed for jurying.

This show will be juried by Kate Marshall. Kate Marshall began her painting career following 31 years as a teacher. As a watercolor and pastel artist, she gains her inspiration from nature during traveling and gardening. Kate’s paintings have been exhibited in individual, group, dual and national exhibits. She has received two Best of Show awards in summer arts festivals. She serves on the Sault Area Art Center’s Gallery Committee where she aids with gallery development, receptions, show installations, and tending the garden.
